To improve fire safety awareness among faculty and students and enhance their ability to respond to emergencies such as fires, SHRL has organized a specialized fire safety training session in collaboration with the HSE, SECD and CMD. This training aims to provide professional guidance, equipping participants with essential fire safety knowledge and skills, so they can effectively carry out self-rescue and assist others during a fire emergency.

The training session was conducted by senior fire safety expert Deng Nianhai, who covered various aspects of fire safety, including fundamental knowledge, fire prevention measures, initial response strategies, and evacuation techniques. This training effectively combined theoretical instruction with practical case studies, ensuring that all participants grasped the importance of fire safety.

During the theoretical segment, Expert Deng discussed common causes of fires, such as electrical short circuits and improper storage of flammable materials, while highlighting the critical need for regular fire inspections. He presented several real-life fire incidents, analyzing their causes and the lessons learned, which reinforced the significance of fire prevention among participants.

Furthermore, the training introduced emergency measures for fire situations, such as quickly assessing fire conditions, using a damp towel to filter smoke, and essential self-rescue techniques for low-profile escape. The expert also provided a simple and effective mnemonic—"six don'ts and one strict prohibition"—to help everyone easily remember the key principles of fire prevention.

This specialized training is a vital part of improving fire safety in the dormitory areas. The training participants include faculty and staff, student representatives, and personnel from the SHRL, HSE, SECD, CMD. Our goal is for each participant to enhance their fire safety awareness and contribute to fostering a safer campus environment.
